I hope you’re all doing well during this coronavirus pandemic. I know we’re all looking to take our minds off of this.
I have probably started this post half a dozen times. I’ve put this off for a long time as it is. I think I was hoping on finding my passion and drive for crocheting again. I also didn’t want to disappoint anyone, especially people that have supported me throughout these last few years. I kept promising to get back into it; I was sure that I just needed a break and suddenly inspiration will take hold of me again and I’ll be back to crocheting every day. But every time I start crocheting I become mentally exhausted. I’ve been on this terrible pattern of starting a project, every intention to write a pattern, and just not finishing. I have so many unfinished projects just sitting around, staring at me. I feel guilt every time I see them. I feel so much anxiety whenever I get a message about a commission, or a question on if I can do a pattern, or anything involving crocheting. So to all of you, I am very sorry. I can’t crochet anymore.
So, let’s talk about the future. All the patterns on ArtisticGaming will stay up. I won’t be adding any new patterns though. All the premium patterns will still be available for purchase. Patterns available on Patreon will continue to be on Patreon. If you’re uncomfortable with the subscription aspect of the site: purchase the $5 sub, download all the patterns you want, and then cancel your subscription so you will not be charged further. Patreon will be shifting to more than just ArtisticGaming. I’m unsure of to what, but I want to leave it up and open for the patterns available there. I may just transition it to support the hosting needs of the site or as a more general support for anything else that I do. Please don’t feel obligated to subscribe. Commissions will continue to be closed.
I’ve recently picked up working with glass beading and stained glass. I haven’t done stained glass in nearly 20 years, but I always had an itch to go back to it. It wasn’t until recently that we have been financially secure enough for me to take some baby steps back into it since it’s a very expensive hobby. We’ll see how long that lasts with the outbreak currently. I’m finding myself in the same position I was in when I started crocheting: Tons of projects with no room to keep everything. So, to alleviate that I’ll be selling a few of my pieces. You can check that out here: LunarBugGlass.com. Sign up before I launch and you’ll automatically be entered to win a free sun catcher.
I love being creative again. I’m enjoying working with my hands and I’m feeling that wonderful notion of accomplishment when I finish a project. It’s been amazing and above all enjoyable.
Finally, I want to thank you all. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for helping me. Thank you for everything. You guys have no idea how much you’ve impacted my life positively. You have blessed me with your presence. Thank you. Seriously.
