slst – slip stitch
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet
inc – increase (2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch.
dec – decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)

Finished Size:

Finished size is about 12” tall. Size varies based on yarn, crochet hook, and how tightly you crochet.

Special Stitch Instructions:

Most pieces begin with a “ring”. Use any type of ring you are comfortable with (i.e. Magic Circle, chain 2 and single crochet in second chain, etc.). You’ll be working in one continuous spiral, unless otherwise noted.

The use of a marker is very useful if you’re not used to working in continuous rounds. It’s also great if you have to stop midway.

Body

With black yarn.
You’re going to pick up stitches around the opening of the head. Go through both loops, starting from the back/ where you f/o’d the head piece. For this part we’ll not be working in rounds.
1. Create a slip stitch. CH2 in first stitch, this will count as a sc, 1sc in same stitch, 13inc. (28)
2-10. 28sc

This next part will be worked in a continuous round, sc across the gap. You’ll be closing the gap on the bottom of the body piece.

11. [1sc, 1dec] continue this until the gap is completely closed. Allow the bottom to round out a bit. Our Vivi is on the chunky side.
F/o and sew up any holes.

Begin sewing up the back of the body piece, stuffing as you go.

With brown yarn embroider a line using slip stitches around the top end of the cuff, make sure to outline the small dip we made at the end. Then attach to the arms, bottom of the cuff between rows 4 and 5 covering up the color change.

f/o and attach to hands. Be sure to watch where you’re placing thumbs. Don’t want 2 right hands Have the dip of the cuff on the outside.
