Hey guys! I get told countless times “I wish I could crochet,” or “I wish I could make that.” I always say that you can! I taught myself how to do everything it is that I do. If I can do it, you can do it. I’ve said that I would do some beginner videos, but lately I’ve just been too busy to catch up. I’m hoping, as crazy as it sounds, December will allow me to finish previous projects and start on some amazing things I have in store for everyone. I’m so excited for it, but I don’t want to hype things I don’t have a set date for.

As for what I can do right now: I’m going to have a “Teach me Crochet” Beginners Event live on Twitch. I need your help in figuring out the best date and time: http://strawpoll.me/6174858 (If you need help with time zones use this as a guide.)

I’ll be showing basic stitches. At the end we’ll make our own little Navi ornament, and if we have time we’ll slip in a Mario ornament as well.

What You’ll Need:

I’ve linked to Amazon so you can see what the items look like to help you with your shopping. These are not affiliate links Some craft stores that could be near you: Michaels, JoAnns, HobbyLobby, Hancock Fabrics. Or! Walmart and Target should have everything you need, just with a smaller selection.

Red Heart Super Saver Yarn (Worsted Weight) in the following colors of your choice:

  • Light Blue (Navi’s body)
  • White (Navi’s wings / Mario’s hat)
  • Red (Mario’s hat)
  • Cream (Mario’s body)
  • Brown (Mario’s hair)
  • Black (If you choose to add eyes to Mario you’ll need some black. I personally will not be adding eyes, but I don’t want you to feel incomplete if you want to have them lol)

What You’ll be Learning

Since this is a beginners course we’ll only learn a few basic stitches (American English Terms):

  • Slip Stitches and Chains (slst, ch)
  • Single Crochet (sc)
  • Increases and Decreases (inc, dec)
  • Half Double Crochet (hdc)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Magic Circle

And we’ll be making a Navi and Mario head ornaments

When and Where?

Wednesday December 16th 5pm PST

I’ll be streaming on my Twitch channel. Head here to follow me to be alerted when I go live.
